About Me

Hi, my name is Claire Manor and I am a recent graduate from the University of Michigan. I graduated with a BFA in Art and Design and a minor in Entrepreneurship. My artwork mostly focuses on the modern-day woman and the different challenges and standards we are adapting to. I believe art is important because it allows people to see that they are not alone in what they are feeling or experiencing. Throughout these past years, my main focuses and passions have been fashion, graphic design, and social media.

I worked for the University of Michigan’s recognized fashion and lifestyle magazine, SHEI magazine for four years. I was on the Social Media team and the Fashion team. My responsibility for the Social Media team was to provide content for their social media sites which have over 2000 followers. As a member of the Fashion team, I collaborated in small groups to develop and integrate photoshoot concepts into the magazine each month which receives around 5200 views. I directed photoshoots and styled models on-site to ensure a cohesive series of photos for the final edit of the magazine.

In my second semester junior year, I had the amazing opportunity to study Fashion Media and Communication at the London College of Fashion. I took Styling, Creative Visual Communication, Fashion Photography, Fashion History and Artifact, and Theoretical and Contemporary Fashion Studies. While studying in London, I learned from current industry leaders and was able to be an assistant stylist for the INIFD London Fashion Week Runway show. During this experience, I supported the lead stylist the week before the show in determining the final styling for over 50 looks. I aided during model fittings through direct communication with designers to determine the final mending and reconstruction of each garment. On the day of the show, I prepared 3 models for the runway by dressing and styling them. I also had my styling class editorial published in Mob Magazine in April 2020. London really sparked my passion for the industry and was the experience I needed to have the confidence to pursue a career in fashion styling.

During my senior year, I completed a year-long internship at SEEN Magazine as a fashion assistant intern. This magazine is based in Detroit, Michigan to promote local businesses throughout the state. I run the SEEN Marketplace Instagram account and assist in fashion editorials for SEEN Magazine print and digital issues. I was also able to create self-directed graphics and articles for the magazine’s website.

I now work as a freelance fashion styling assistant in New York, NY. I am excited to be a part of an industry that has the ability to positively influence women daily.
